EACH is the Lead Agency of the Therapeutic Alliance (TA), a consortium of community based, not-for-profit services who provide services across the North Coast of NSW (the 3 main service hubs are located at Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, and Byron Bay). The alliance will deliver the Primary Mental Health Program (PMHP) through a multidisciplinary, person centred, hub-and-spoke model of care.

Are you passionate about supporting others through their recovery journey? As an Adult Complex & Severe Peer Worker, you will form effective and empathetic peer relationships by sharing your lived experience in a purposeful way in the hopes of creating deep connections and move towards a future of hope and possibilities.
In this role, you will:
- Build mutual relationships based on shared experiences and curiosity, fostering hope and social change.
- Provide 1:1 peer support both onsite and through outreach, facilitating peer support groups, and offering secondary consultation and education.
- Help clients develop their strengths and recovery goals, promote hope, choice, and social connectedness, and collaborate with staff and service providers to enhance recovery-oriented mental health and substance use services.
- Participate in individual peer supervision and peer reflective practice groups will ensure your work aligns with best practices.
- Utilise Intentional Peer Support principles, forming empathic relationships, upholding recovery-focused values, and engaging in professional development.

Who we are looking for
We’re seeking a Peer Worker with the ability and willingness to self-reflect and share own experiences of recovery with others for the benefit of advancing their recovery.
The successful applicant will have:
- Lived experience of mental illness, substance dependence and/or trauma.
- Lived experience of the recovery journey.
- Group facilitation skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to human rights and social justice, trauma-informed care, and the harm minimisation approach.
- Personal experience of the public or private mental health or AOD systems (highly regarded).
- Advanced knowledge of the local area and its health services and other community services (highly regarded).
