We are seeking a highly skilled Network and Security Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization’s network infrastructure and security measures. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and deploy secure network solutions to meet business needs, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. Ensure network architecture aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Security Management:
Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect network and data integrity. Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and implement necessary security measures. Manage firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and other security appliances.
Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
Perform regular network performance tuning and troubleshooting. Monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure network availability and reliability. Perform routine maintenance in line with preventive and recovery strategies, including software and hardware upgrades, patches, and backups.
Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
Investigate and respond to network and security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Provide support for network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration files, and documentation of processes and changes. Prepare regular reports on network performance, security status, and incident response activities.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure the network complies with relevant security standards and regulations. Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability testing, addressing identified risks.
Collaboration and Training:
Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of network solutions. Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on network and security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in network security or related roles.
- Proven experience with network security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption
methods.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
- Experience with security frameworks and tools (e.g., SIEM, SSL/TLS, encryption).
- Knowledge of cloud networking and security (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or CEH are highly desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
