The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that Councils strategic planning documents, policies and land management plans are prepared efficiently and effectively in accordance with best practice and statutory requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
Prepare, develop and contribute to high level documentation related to development control plans, local environmental plans and local strategic planning statements in line with Councils strategic objectives.
Represent Council as an expert witness on planning, environmental and heritage matters in relation to litigation and appeals through the Local and Land and Environment Courts.
Establish and contribute to investigations on potential planning, environmental and heritage related matters and developing reports as required.
Provide advice and resolve issues on development and strategic planning related matters, supporting decision making with stakeholders.
Contribute to continuous improvement processes for the effective management of projects and service delivery.
