About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of IT to lead our technology initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring that our IT infrastructure is reliable, secure, and aligned with our business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, with proven experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. IT Strategy and Leadership:
o Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the company’s business goals.
o Lead the IT department, including hiring, training, and managing staff.
o Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation, and support of IT systems and programs.
2. Infrastructure Management:
o Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the IT infrastructure.
o Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems.
o Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
3. Data Security and Compliance:
o Implement and maintain robust security protocols to protect sensitive patient and business data.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA, GDPR, and local medicinal cannabis laws.
o Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
4. Project Management:
o Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
o Coordinate with other departments to ensure IT projects support business objectives.
5. Technical Support:
o Provide technical support and guidance to staff and users.
o Develop and maintain IT policies and procedures, including those for security, disaster recovery, standards, and service provision.
6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
o Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
o Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in IT systems and processes.
Qualifications:
• Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and processes.
Proven experience with regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and GDPR.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
