Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified Vehicle Painter to join Hidrive’s manufacturing team in their Perth based workshop. As a Vehicle Painter, you will be responsible for painting and finishing a wide range of vehicle parts and accessories, ensuring that they leave our workshop looking flawless and pristine on the host vehicle. As a Vehicle Painter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the aesthetics of the products we manufacture are properly finished and setup to withstand the harsh conditions which the work vehicles of our clients will be exposed to. You will directly support established painting/finishing and manufacturing operations, as well as being given freedom to enhance efficiencies and improve quality outcomes as opportunities arise. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and clean vehicle parts/accessory surfaces for painting, including panel repair (aesthetics, scratches, etc.).
- Mix and apply paint to host vehicles, parts, and accessories using various methods, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
- Spray painting including matching of accessories and parts with host vehicle.
- Cut and polish.
- Be responsible for the operation and housekeeping of the paint mixing facilities you use.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of paint colour matching.
- Repair paint imperfections and flaws as needed.
- Apply clear coats and other finishes to protect and enhance the appearance of vehicles.
- Be willing to assist as needed in other areas of the finishing team.
- Meet attendance requirements (i.e. be reliable, get to work on time and well rested).
- Work with limited reliance on supervisors.
- Be effective and proactive in meeting deadlines.
- Take pride in producing accurate and high quality paint work.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Requirements:
- Possess a certificate or higher in an Automotive Refinishing Technology, Vehicle Painting, Spray Painting, or a similar course (significant good experience in a similar role may substitute for formal qualifications).
- Have a minimum of 4 years experience in a Vehicle Painting/Spray Painting role.
- Have a demonstrated attention to detail with a logical approach to problem solving.
- Have an appreciation for the need for accuracy, with very strong attention to detail.
- Have sound knowledge of vehicle aesthetics.
- Have a good degree of physical fitness.
- Have a proven ability to paint vehicle or heavy machinery parts and accessories.
- Have experience working with 2 pack paints.
- Have proven colour matching skills.
- Have Panel and paint prepping abilities.
- Be organised and have a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
