Isle Holdings Pty Ltd. are currently seeking experienced Fishing Hands and Ship's Engineers to work on a fishing vessel located in Shark Bay WA for the season.
Fishing Hands
Experience Required:
• Solid understanding of OHS on board a vessel & basic emergency procedures
• Knowledge and experience in deploying and retrieving of pots, trawls, and traps
• Demonstrated experience with assembly and repairs of fishing gear and application of various fishing techniques
• Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role within the fishing industry working on prawn trawlers
Required Qualifications:
• Certificate II or III in Fishing Operations
• Apply Basic First Aid
Ships Engineers
Experience Required:
• Solid understanding of OHS on board a vessel & basic emergency procedures
• Knowledge and experience in deploying and retrieving of pots, trawls, and traps
• Demonstrated experience with assembly and repairs of fishing gear and application of various fishing techniques
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the fishing industry working on prawn trawlers
Required Qualifications:
• Certificate - Marine Engine Driver Grade 2
• Apply Basic First Aid
Essential Requirements for both roles:
• Full working rights (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident)
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• A strong work ethic and physical fitness as this role requires repetitive lifting
• Have previous experience working in a similar role in remote locations for long periods within the fishing industry
• Knowledge of basic food handling procedures
• Self-motivated with good communication and problem-solving skills
• Must pass all drug and alcohol tests
• Be able to work at sea and live in close quarters
• Preferably fully COVID-19 vaccinated and provide proof of vaccinations
An annual salary for full time employees for the relevant occupation will fall in the range of $65,850.00 to $70,000.00.
