Job Overview
The Systems Engineer and Developer Programmer will manage our Exchange and SharePoint servers and perform various programming and development tasks. This role requires most of the time to program various developing tasks, including system engineering expertise, to ensure our IT systems' optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Developer Programming
? Research, consult, analyse, and evaluate system program needs to identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated processes, procedures, and methods.
? Design, test, debug, diagnose, and correct errors and faults in application programming languages within established testing protocols, guidelines, quality standards and best practices.
? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
? Ensure programs and applications meet specifications by adhering to quality standards.
? Write and maintain program code to meet system requirements, design, and technical specifications, following quality-accredited standards.
? Write, update, and maintain technical program documentation, end-user documentation, and operational procedures.
? Provide advice, guidance, and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities, including financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades.
System Engineering
? Manage and maintain Exchange and SharePoint servers, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
? Perform regular system monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting to prevent and resolve issues.
? Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures for critical systems.
? Collaborate with other IT staff to integrate systems and applications seamlessly.
Qualifications
? Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
? 2+ years of experience in software development and programming.
? Strong backend programming skills in PHP, Python, and frameworks, including Laravel or Django.
? Strong programming skills to make desktop-based applications like VB.NET and MSSQL.
? Experience with web development frameworks and technologies (e.g., .NET, Angular, React).
? Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
? Proven experience in managing Exchange and SharePoint servers.
? Solid understanding of system engineering principles and practices.
? Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
? Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
? Strong analytical and evaluative skills.
? Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
? Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub).
? Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
? Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
