Outback Mechanical NT are looking for a Diesel Fitter Mechanic to join our team.
To be considered for this position, you will need a level of skill commensurate with a relevant Fitter trade qualification and at least two years of relevant post qualification employment experience OR at least 3 years of relevant employment experience as a Fitter.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all diesel engines in utility vehicles, trucks, tractors, earth-moving and grading machinery, pumps, forklifts, generators, all-terrain vehicles, compressors etc;
- Performing operational maintenance scheduling, overhauling and repairing of all mechanical parts and fluid power hydraulic equipment in the workshop, but predominately on-site on the farms and premises of customers;
- The maintenance of a well-stocked workshop and utility vehicle with an inventory of spare parts, lubricants, oils, filters, consumables and disposables.
This role will primarily be working from our Alice Springs base, however will include serving customers within a 1500km radius across the Northern Territory. As such, you must be prepared to work in very remote locations for extended periods of time, in harsh climatic conditions and with limited assistance from colleagues and access to parts suppliers.
