About the opportunity
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to strengthen our presence in Australia. In this exciting role, you will build relationships and grow sales with new and existing customers across the country and be the key link between all local parties and the HQ in France.
Main responsibilities
1 - Market expansion
Expanding French company in Australia.
Spearheading the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities to drive sales growth and expand market presence.
Conducting market research to identify new market segments, get new leads and define the best adapted strategies.
Developing and executing strategic plans to enter new markets and establish a strong brand presence.
2 - Client relationship management
Managing and developing a network of 3 strategic partners (known as distributors) and 20+ resellers.
Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Training partners on products, colours, merchandising, etc. following the brand standards
Collaborating with the sales team to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
3 - Language and International collaboration
Demonstrating fluency in French to effectively communicate with Fermob's headquarters and facilitate seamless collaboration.
Managing import/export processes and logistics, ensuring smooth international operations.
Preparing, getting approved and monitoring the yearly sales and marketing budgets for the Management and the Finance Department in France.
Monitoring sales targets and performance monthly and informing Management in France on progress and issues.
Presenting sales and marketing reports at the end of each season to Management and the company.
4 - Online sales strategy
Utilizing in-depth knowledge of online sales strategies to enhance the company's digital presence.
Implementing and optimizing e-commerce strategies to drive online furniture sales.
- Furniture expertise
Organizing and attending events in the Design and Furniture Industry.
Monitoring the markets (competitors, new laws, etc.) and reporting back to the company in France.
Leveraging extensive experience in the furniture industry, particularly outdoor furniture.
Providing expert guidance to customers, recommending Fermob products that align with their aesthetic and functional preferences.
- Quality assurance and brand reputation
Overseeing product quality control measures to uphold Fermob's commitment to excellence.
Safeguarding the brand's reputation by ensuring all offerings meet the highest standards of durability and innovation.
The ideal candidate
- Master’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in a business development role, demonstrating a successful track record.
- Fluent in French to facilitate effective communication with Fermob’s headquarters in France.
- Proven background in the furniture industry (a specialisation in outdoor furniture is preferred).
- Expertise in managing import/export processes and logistics to ensure efficient global operations.
- Comprehensive understanding of online sales strategies and proficiency in e-commerce platforms.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
