We seek skilled and experienced Chefs and Cooks to join our dynamic teams at Hobart Deli and SomeDay Coffee Co.
You will be pivotal in ensuring the highest food quality standards, presentation, and customer satisfaction. This position requires a dedicated professional with a passion for culinary excellence and a strong background in kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chefs and Cooks with experience working in a commercial kitchen. Food Handling certificate is a must.
- 2 years' minimum experience in a commercial kitchen, and a high volume and fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong English language skills, both written and spoken. This includes understanding and following instructions, engaging in clear verbal communication, and producing written reports or documents as needed.
Task and Responsibilities:
- Can manage and lead a team to operate at a high level, utilising staff efficiently.
- Can uphold and continue to develop a good work culture in our kitchen.
- Use and improve existing routines.
- Creative commitment to the seasonal menu planning.
- Organised and able to foresee the kitchen's needs using ordering and job planning systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
