The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Business Analyst is responsible for working with stakeholders, security teams, and technology departments to ensure effective management of user identities and access privileges within the organization. This role bridges the gap between business needs and IT capabilities, ensuring that IAM systems support business requirements and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with business units to gather and document IAM requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications for IAM solutions.
• Conduct gap analysis of existing IAM processes and recommend improvements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of IAM tools such as Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
• Support the implementation of role-based access control (RBAC), policy frameworks, and governance structures.
• Ensure alignment of IAM solutions with business and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA).
• Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and security stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to ensure alignment on IAM strategies and implementations.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on IAM initiatives, risks, and progress.
• Review and optimize IAM processes for efficiency and scalability.
• Propose changes and enhancements to improve security posture and user experience.
• Develop IAM-related KPIs and metrics to measure effectiveness and compliance.
• Ensure IAM processes and systems comply with organizational security policies, regulations, and industry standards.
• Assist in the development of IAM audit controls and procedures.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
• Develop and maintain documentation for IAM processes, policies, and user guides.
• Provide training to business users and technical teams on IAM tools and best practices.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and changes in IAM technologies.
• Support the troubleshooting and resolution of IAM system issues.
• Assist in the investigation and resolution of IAM-related security incidents.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within Identity and Access Management or cybersecurity domains.
• Hands-on experience with IAM tools and technologies (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, Azure AD).
• Experience with IAM lifecycle management (provisioning, de-provisioning, authentication, and authorization).
• Strong understanding of IAM principles (RBAC, least privilege, segregation of duties, etc.).
• Familiarity with compliance regulations (GDPR, SOX, HIPAA) and IAM frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in creating process diagrams, workflows, and requirement documentation.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
