CISS is a family-owned repair workshop with over 25 years of service to the transport industry. Located on the Perth Airport estate, we provide services to a broad range of industries and work on an extensive variety of equipment.
About the role
We require a qualified Heavy Truck mechanic to operate from our busy workshop. The role will be responsible for performing a range of service and repair works to customer’s vehicles and related earth moving equipment, Repairing, maintaining and testing motor vehicles and other internal combustion engines and related mechanical components.
Duties and responsibilities include:
1. Assembling engines and parts after being repaired, ensuring proper placement and functionality of components.
2. Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components.
3. Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers, using specialized software for fault identification.
4. Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, inspecting parts for damage or wear.
5. Inspecting vehicles and issuing roadworthiness certificates or detailing work required to achieve roadworthiness.
6. Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to ensure smoother vehicle operation and compliance with emissions regulations.
7. Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, and reassembling mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
8. Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls, providing roadside assistance for urgent repairs.
9. Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired to ensure proper performance.
Essential attributes, skills and experience
• Certificate III on mechanical disciplines or 3 years of experience
• Must be a Fully Qualified Mechanic.
• Reliable team player with strong work ethic.
• Customer focused with good communication skills.
• A clean drives license ; manual preferred
• Safety first approach
• Be able to “think out of the box” to provide positive outcomes.
• Detail orientated and good with paperwork and record keeping
• Own tools
Desirable attributes, skills and experience
• Training in Computer Diagnostic equipment.
• Experience in a broad range of equipment.
• Hydraulic and Electrical knowledge.
