The Kentish is a beautiful, historic pub located on leafy Stanley Street in North Adelaide. Our menu offers a mix of classic pub favourites alongside more adventurous dishes, all crafted with high-quality ingredients and served with love and care. Our culinary team is dedicated to offering a unique dining experience, with daily specials that highlight seasonal ingredients and innovative cooking.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at The Kentish. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, precision, and a dedication to quality, ensuring that every dish served reflects our commitment to excellence. As a Chef, you will be responsible for designing and preparing a menu that delights our diverse clientele while overseeing the kitchen’s smooth operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Menu Development & Design:• Create and design a diverse menu that caters to various tastes and dietary preferences, incorporating both traditional pub fare and innovative dishes.
• Food Preparation & Cooking:• Prepare and cook dishes with precision, maintaining the highest quality and taste standards while ensuring timely service.
• Customization for Dietary Needs:• Adapt dishes to meet customers' specific dietary requirements, including allergies and intolerances.
• Kitchen Operations & Rostering:• Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, managing staff rosters to ensure efficient workflow during service hours.
• Staff Training & Development:• Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, dish presentation, and food safety standards.
• Collaboration & Innovation:• Work closely with management to introduce new and exciting dishes that align with our cuisine’s theme and the restaurant’s overall vision.
• Inventory & Cost Management:• Manage kitchen inventory, control food costs, and ensure optimal stock levels without compromising quality.
• Food Safety & Hygiene:• Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, ensuring compliance with health regulations and industry guidelines.
• Culinary Trends & Creativity:• Stay up-to-date with current culinary trends, incorporating new techniques and ideas to keep our menu fresh and exciting.
• Team Collaboration:• Contribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment, fostering teamwork and mutual respect among staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum Cert IV in commercial cookery
• Minimum 2 years pf experience in the role.
• Strong culinary skills with a passion for creativity and innovation.
• Excellent understanding of dietary requirements, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
