SALARY: $73,150 - $75,000 Per annum
ABOUT US:
Local family-owned Mediterranean restaurant in Cronulla is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes that reflect our Mediterranean heritage, blended with modern Australian influences. You will play a key role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining the high standards of food quality and presentation that our guests have come to love.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes that align with restaurant’s culinary vision, using fresh, local ingredients.
• Contribute to the creation and evolution of menus, ensuring a balance of traditional and contemporary dishes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Lead, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and professional team atmosphere.
• Monitor stock levels, manage orders, and ensure the kitchen is always well-supplied with quality ingredients.
• Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and timely delivery of meals to guests.
• Ensure all kitchen operations comply with occupational health and safety standards.
• Innovate and introduce new culinary ideas, staying updated with food trends to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply
• Minimum Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience as a Chef in a similar high-paced restaurant environment.
• Proficiency in a wide range of cooking techniques and a strong understanding of various cuisines.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills.
• Creativity in menu development and food presentation.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
