POSITION OVERVIEW:
Jaimal’s is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, preparing high-quality Indian vegetarian dishes, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in North Indian cuisine, especially within a vegetarian or vegan setting. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase culinary skills in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and prepare a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, with a focus on North Indian cuisine.
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards in terms of taste, presentation, and consistency.
Manage food preparation processes, including the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring a high standard of teamwork and professionalism.
Collaborate with management on menu development and seasonal updates.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Diploma in commercial cookery
Minimum 2-3 years of as a Chef, preferably in a fast-paced seafood environment.
Proven expertise in North Indian cuisine, with a strong focus on vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
