Overview:
Glendenning Tyre and Auto Repairs is a trusted provider of comprehensive automotive repair and maintenance services. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Motor Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks for various car makes and models, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform general mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance across all vehicle systems including engine, transmission, steering, cooling, and electrical systems.
• Conduct tyre fitting, wheel balancing, and alignment services.
• Carry out log book servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications, maintaining vehicle warranties.
• Inspect and repair braking systems, including pads, discs, and hydraulics.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace suspension and shock absorbers.
• Service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems.
• Perform roadworthy inspections, including issuing pink slips (eSafety checks) and blue slips (pre-registration inspections).
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Provide clear and accurate reports on work completed, along with maintenance recommendations to customers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage parts inventory and ensure timely ordering of supplies.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
• AQF Certificate III of Automotive Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic in a professional workshop setting.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A valid driver’s license is essential.
