As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Poultry Farm Manager to join our team and oversee farm operations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Poultry Farm Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring the health and productivity of the flock, overseeing staff, and maintaining high-quality egg production standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in poultry farming, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to best practices in animal welfare.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee the daily operations of the poultry farm, including flock management, feeding, egg collection, and sorting.
• Monitor the health and welfare of the poultry flock, implementing biosecurity measures and veterinary care as needed.
• Develop and manage work schedules for farm staff, ensuring efficient operation and productivity.
• Maintain and monitor farm facilities and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Implement and monitor feeding programs, ensuring optimal nutrition and production.
• Manage egg production processes, ensuring high-quality standards are met and maintained.
• Monitor environmental conditions in the poultry houses (temperature, ventilation, etc.) and make adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to poultry farming and animal welfare.
• Train and mentor farm staff, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Prepare reports on farm operations, production levels, and financial performance for management review.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
• A minimum AQF Certificate III in Poultry Production (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years of recent and relevant experience in poultry farming or a related field.
• Proven leadership and management experience within an agricultural or farming environment.
• Strong understanding of poultry farming operations, including biosecurity, nutrition, and flock management.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Passion for animal welfare and sustainable farming practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative.
• A proactive and hands-on approach to farm management.
