Seafood at the Beach is a long-standing fish and chip restaurant located at Dee Why Beach, proudly serving the Northern Beaches community. Under new ownership since 2021, we’ve expanded our offerings to include a larger range of fresh, quality seafood alongside all your favourite classics. Our commitment to quality, fresh ingredients, and expert preparation ensures we deliver mouth-watering dishes every time.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the high standard of our menu, ensuring all dishes are prepared with precision and care. This role requires a strong understanding of seafood, an eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the daily preparation and cooking of all menu items, ensuring the highest standards of taste and presentation.
Develop, plan, and refine menu offerings to enhance our range of fresh seafood dishes and traditional favourites.
Manage kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering, and maintaining food cost margins.
Ensure all food is prepared using fresh ingredients and cooked to order, while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and consistency.
Collaborate with the management team to introduce seasonal specials and new dishes that align with customer preferences.
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring all tools and appliances are in proper working order.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Diploma in commercial cookery
Minimum 2-3 years of as a Chef, preferably in a fast-paced seafood environment.
Strong knowledge and passion for seafood, including preparation and cooking techniques.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen health protocols.
Creativity in menu development and a keen understanding of customer preferences.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
