Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Chassis Modification:
• Perform modifications on vehicle chassis according to provided designs, including cutting, fitting, and adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with the highest standards for precision and safety during all modifications.
Welding Expertise:
• Execute high-quality arc welding, TIG welding, MIG welding, and submerged arc welding.
• Join metal components, structures, and rails as per specifications and design requirements.
Fabrication and Assembly:
• Fabricate brackets, components for tubs, fuel tanks, ramps, handrails, wheelchairs, and wheelchair-accessible conversions.
• Assess and select suitable materials and processes based on technical designs provided.
Machining and Tool Setup:
• Set up and adjust machining tools, cutting, and shaping tools to ensure precise fabrication for grab rails and accessible components.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments during fabrication and assembly to maintain accuracy in installations.
Safety and Quality Control:
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards throughout all fabrication and welding tasks.
• Continuously monitor and improve the quality of work to meet and exceed industry standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum AQF Certificate III in Metal Fabrication, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role with demonstrated expertise in vehicle chassis modification and metal fabrication.
• Proven experience in high-quality welding (arc, TIG, MIG, and submerged arc).
• Strong knowledge of material selection, technical design interpretation, and fabrication processes.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments for assembly and installation tasks.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining attention to detail and safety.
