SALARY: $73,150 per annum
The Painting Trades Worker is a key role at Super Pro Painting & Decorating Services, responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services. The role requires a comprehensive skill set, including surface preparation, paint application, and finishing techniques. The worker will contribute significantly to the success and timely completion of projects, which are critical for the business’s reputation and client satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up scaffolding and ladders, and place drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering.
• Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces to ensure readiness for new finishes.
• Perform sandblasting and spray painting as required for specific projects.
• Select, mix, and prepare paints to required colors by combining pigments, oil, and additives for thinning and drying.
• Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Hang wallpaper, ensuring patterns are matched and edges are trimmed for a professional finish.
• Clean equipment and maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
• Conduct minor repairs, including window repairs, glass replacement in wooden and metal frames, and laying or repairing wall and floor tiles as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
• Minimum Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
• Minimum 2 years full-time experience in the role.
• Attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues and clients.
