Betfair Australia is on the lookout for a Senior React Native Developer to join our Digital Team. As a senior developer, you will play a pivotal role in leading our cross-functional Agile team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-paced world of online sports betting, collaborate with talented professionals, and contribute to the success of a market leader.

Our Digital team is working on some incredible initiatives at the moment. These initiatives span the breadth of building the next generation of channels through to streaming of enterprise scale data. We have a strong growth target in place and we are going to go after it. We embrace a growth-mindset and support each other. 

What you will bring

  • A highly experienced Agilist leading, practicing, and championing Agile ways of working.
  • Expert knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • At least 10 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 7 years of experience in modern Agile frameworks.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the native app space with iOS, Android, and Mobile Web.
  • Expert level of proficiency in React Native, JavaScript, and Typescript.
  • Expertise with APIs and data transformation.
  • Deep understanding of state management in React Native.
  • Experience with design systems and value unit test coverage.
  • Relevant tertiary degree or similar qualification/industry experience.
  • A proactive and positive problem-solving approach.
  • Comfortable being the lead technical voice in team and stakeholder discussions.
  • A strong commitment to continuous learning and helping others grow.
  • Enthusiasm for wagering and a dedication to making Betfair the best place to work.

Some tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with key roles to understand the product vision and mission.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies and help others increase their Agile maturity.
  • Focus on developing the code required to deliver expected functionality safely, reliably, and securely.
  • Prioritise work effectively and hold others accountable for deviations from the plan.
  • Champion technical excellence, standards, patterns, and practices.
  • Thoroughly test your code before raising Pull Requests (PR) .
  • Maintain technical quality gates and encourage others to understand and follow them.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to changes, thriving under pressure.
