Come join the Green Beginnings Family

Green Beginnings Child Centres and Kindergartens are a family-owned early childhood service - supporting children and families within our community for almost 12 years. We are situated on beautiful Lake Kawana where we work alongside children and their families from 18 months to kindergarten age.

Green Beginnings is inspired by and lovingly embeds the principles of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project and Nature Play into our everyday practices. We use these principles, along with related research, to shape our own unique vision and philosophy. One that is perfect for us.

- It sees children as being capable and competent and values their rights to be heard, their rights to be different, their rights to be loved, and their rights to peace.
- It appreciates and pays respect to the natural world, the land, its history, the connectedness to life (the animals, people, and plants) and to preserving and respecting its presence and the joy it brings us.
- It embraces the bonds children have with their family, and the valuable learning that naturally unfolds within trusting relationships with people, places and things in our world.
- It sees play and inquiry as a basis for a curriculum that emerges from ideas, wonders, thoughts, meaningful provocations, questions and respectful interactions with people young and old.

We are searching for an Assistant Director/Educator who holds the same vision, the same passion, and the same aspirations for children as we do. This person will share their day with little people who are 18 months to 5 years old and their families. You will work directly with the Service Director throughout your day and alongside other educators, all within a team of many more (we have a multi age play space). You will be guided and supported professionally and emotionally by our service Directors.

Applicants need to:

- Have a strong commitment to being a active contributor to an inspirational high quality Early Childhood Educational service.
- Be inspired by and have a basic understanding of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project (if you are still learning about this, that is okay, we will help along the way)
- Value reflective practices and respectful professional conversations
- Embrace and celebrate the importance of play.
- Support purposeful engagement of the community into the everyday culture of our service.
- Be inspired by and passionate about “Nature Play” and the magical relationship we have with the earth and all its living things.
- Work collaboratively as part of our team to support all children and families within our environment, celebrating their uniqueness.
- Value families and the magical bond they share with their children and possess the ability to communicate effectively both with these families and within the team.Be a strong advocate for the rights of all children.
- Be committed to deepening your professional knowledge through reflection and professional development opportunities.
- Bring with you a warm, positive energy that will complement our Green Beginnings personality.
- Have an interest in the arts (music, sculpture, drawing, drama, painting and more) and appreciation and joy for how children use these expressive languages in their play and their search for meaning.

Applicants must hold

- A minimum of a Diploma qualification with at least 5 years professional experience.
- A current Blue Card/ Working with Children Check
- A current First Aid Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management training.
- Child Protection Training (or can complete upon successful employment)
