We are seeking Firmware Engineers to join our growing IoT Product Engineering Team and be part of some exciting projects.
Our vision is to ‘Making IoT Easy’. We are developing every aspect of our own Rugged IoT system for use across consumer and industrial applications and trying to make it accessible to every Engineer, Maker and Hacker in the world.
We are undertaking every part of the system design in-house. From the device designs being mechanically rugged with electronics capable of operating in harsh industrial and remote mining environments. Through to our own Firmware Operating System that gives us the ability to interface with sensors and actuators in real-time whilst also extending an API across the entire stack from our devices at the edge all the way to the internet.
The ability for the devices to edge compute sensor data at high speeds as well as communicate as their own autonomous control system and be connected to the internet, allows a truly unique IoT system we are looking to take to market in the next 6 months.
We are even going as far as manufacturing the vast majority of components for the devices in-house with our own manufacturing equipment.
We also undertake client work and help them develop bespoke IoT systems, or build onto their current systems. Some clients are choosing to utilize our system as their core and licensing technology from Element such that we can help more people win faster by building across many clients rather than bespoking for each.
The Role
We are looking for Firmware Engineers to be major contributors to our team with the passion and drive to help us take our vision of ‘Making IoT Easy’ to the masses.
As part of the role, you will be undertaking the following:
Development of performant and fit for purpose Embedded C firmware as part of our own real-time, edge connected IoT operating system
Development of bare-metal drivers for interface with analogue and digital systems
Development of testing systems and scripts to test firmware
Work with electronics engineers to specify and refine electronic designs as well as testing them in the field
Work with web software engineers to create wireless communications systems connecting to backend servers
Work with native app developers to interface and configure devices via bluetooth

Position Requirements
Successful candidates will possess the following:
Motivated and passionate about IoT and web technologies
Tertiary Education in Electronics Enginering, Software Engineering, Physics or Mathematics, with Bachelors Degree or better
Must have a passion for writing performant Embedded C code
Able to write Python code for interface testing and scripting
Hybrid role based mostly in-office in Malaga, Western Australia, due to interfacing with prototype electronic devices
Able to test your own code and review the code of others
Proficiency with GIT workflows
Proficient with pipeline based deployments preferably with GitLab
Demonstrates their competence and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Shortlisted candidates will be expected to demonstrate or provide the following as requested:
Demo of code they have written themselves during an interview
Be given a brief coding challenge within the interview
Remuneration will be dependant on candidates capabilities and experience.
All candidates willing to relocate to Perth, Western Australia, working in our hybrid workplace will be considered. 482 Visa offered as well as consideration for working remotely while immigrating to Perth for interstate and overseas candidates.
