Position: Boilermaker-Welder
Requires a Metal Fabricator with expertise as a Boilermaker-Welder
Job Type: Full time/ Middle Swan, WA 6056
Salary $85,000 to $95,000 plus Superannuation
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
· Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components using tools such as shears, cutters, and welding equipment.
· Fit and assemble structural frameworks and components using hand and power tools.
· Build or repair fixed plant equipment based on technical drawings
· Inspect and maintain boilers, pressure vessels, and other fabricated structures for defects, wear, and tear.
· Repair or replace damaged parts using welding, grinding, and other metal fabrication techniques.
· Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure the longevity and safety of the equipment.
· Finalise the fabrication process through meticulous finishing techniques, including the precise cleaning, polishing, and filing of metal surfaces, followed by immersion in specialised acidic solutions to enhance surface integrity and ensure optimal durability and corrosion resistance.
· Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure it meets all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each project.
· Adhere to workplace safety standards and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
· Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
· Communicate any issues or delays promptly to supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
· Provide guidance and training to apprentices and less experienced team members as needed.
· Execute a wide range of welding processes, including but not limited to MIG, TIG, stick, and arc welding, to join metal parts with exacting accuracy.
· Conduct multi-pass welding operations, ensuring the integrity and durability of joints in high-pressure and high-temperature environments.
· Perform post-weld heat treatment and other finishing processes to relieve stresses and ensure optimal material properties.
Qualification & Experience
· We seek a qualified Boilermaker Welder with relevant industry qualifications in Metal Fabrication, such as Certificate III or Cert IV in Metal Fabrication or equivalent relevant Australian-recognised vocational qualifications.
· At least two years of comprehensive experience as a Metal Fabricator or Boilermaker Welder.
Candidates must be:
· Exposure to working in heavy industrial or mining will be an advantage
· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces.
· Comfortable working in varying conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, and at heights.
· A valid Australian Driving licence
· High-risk work licence desirable
· Ability to work positively, proactively, and safely alone as well as team-oriented
