Position Overview:

Masala Bar and Grill Officer is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join their dynamic kitchen team. This full-time permanent position offers an attractive salary from $73,000 - $78,000 at Officer VIC 3809 is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about Indian cuisine and eager to contribute to a well-established restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Culinary Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, ensuring that all meals meet the restaurant’s high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Recipe Execution: Follow established recipes accurately while also contributing creative ideas for new dishes and menu items.
• Ingredient Management: Organize and prepare all necessary ingredients for cooking, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Kitchen Supervision: Assist in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that all staff adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders as needed to ensure the kitchen is always well-equipped.
• Customer Satisfaction: Adapt dishes according to customer preferences and dietary requirements to enhance their dining experience.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient order flow and maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
• Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cook, preferably in an Indian restaurant setting.
• Qualifications: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Culinary Knowledge: Strong understanding of Indian cuisine, including the use of spices, herbs, and traditional cooking techniques.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations with composure.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with a team while also being capable of taking initiative when required.
• Communication: Good communication skills to effectively interact with both the kitchen team and front-of-house staff.
• Work Rights: Must possess unrestricted working rights in Australia.
