Key Responsibilities:
Assembling & fitting of truck bodies to chassis, fitting of rear doors, toolboxes, roofs, etc.
Welding subframes and components
Relocating chassis components such as air tanks, fuel tanks, etc
Fitting cranes, hooklifts and truck mounted forklifts
Machine modifications such as bin rest, hook height modifications
Wiring of bodies to truck chassis.
Experience in operation of hand & power tools.
Mentor, inspire and develop apprentices and employees through regular progress reviews and assessment and ongoing support
Monitor and ensure effective safeguarding of HSE, welfare, and support arrangements for apprentices
Work with the broader team and providers to monitor off the job learner performance and maximize the link between classroom and workplace learning
Ensure adherence to health and safety practices in the workshop and promote safe work practices among apprentices
Communicate with Workshop Managers, Supervisors, and Tradespersons regarding apprentice progress
Assist in identifying and resolving fabrication/welding-related issues (personnel, consumable, or equipment-related)
