Your new role Based in South Brisbane, you will assist with a significant Defence Acquisition program. You will lead quality control and quality management processes and activities, including development, implementation, and auditing, to ensure continual improvement of the quality management system. Your efforts will be crucial for the successful delivery of the program. Some of your key tasks will include:
Maintain and monitor compliance, seeking improvements in the Project Management System and systems for data, document, and record management.
Monitor the non-conformance reporting process for trends, and participate in the identification, reporting, and investigation for rectification, ensuring dispositions, remedial solutions, and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Assist in the preparation, review, and completion of work packages, ensuring conformance reviews are conducted on all internal and deliverable documentation and products before they are released to the customer.
Review subcontractors' quality documentation to ensure they meet quality management system obligations.
Attend Supply Chain and Procurement progress meetings, providing input for Quality Risk Assessments and QC Requirements.
Perform regular quality process control audits, including surveillance and witnessing of formal testing (factory acceptance testing and first article inspection), random verification checks, and handover inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Assist the HSEQ Manager in conducting the project audit program according to the approved audit schedule.
Assist project personnel with training in the Defence Solutions Information Management System (DSIMS) [SharePoint] and other applicable quality systems.
Drive the closure of manufacturing, production, assembly, supply chain, and procurement quality issues
What you'll need to succeed
Australian Citizenship is mandatory due to defence requirements.
Solid experience in Quality Assurance or Engineering - within an engineering environment. Relevant industry experience includes Defence or Manufacturing or even O&G / Energy.
Specialist experience in project engineering (mechanical) and working knowledge of project management.
Proficient in Quality Planning and Reporting.
Ability to interpret specifications and engineering drawings.
Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment requirements and their implementation.
Experience with Enterprise Requirements/Materials Requirements Planning (ERP/MRP) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) tools, such as IBM Maximo and SAP.
