Our client is an engineering consultancy who design intelligent solutions for the buildings, environmental, land development, maritime and riverine, transport, waste and water sectors. Their clients include commercial and residential developers, construction firms, municipal councils and government departments.

Reporting to the NSW Water Lead, you will contribute to the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through to design. Drawing on your technical foundation, you will continue to develop your capabilities to enable the efficient design and delivery of infrastructure required to support growing communities.

The role will support the company’s national water program, providing network modelling, planning, and design across metropolitan and regional Australia. The successful candidate will be ready to take the next step in their career to work towards leading projects in our growing team.

Responsibilities:

- Undertake tasks as required by the Project Leader.
- Provide internal advice and input on projects within required timeframes
- Proactively communicate with clients on technical matters and issues as required by the Project Leader
- Understand the scope, extent and context of project tasks as well as client and stakeholder requirements
- Understand the scope, extent and context of the tasks to be undertaken by Subconsultants
- Communicate with Subconsultants throughout the project as required by the Project Leader
- Understand Statutory requirements and appropriate Standards, and how these may impact upon the scope and extent of the project
- Identify and assess project risks and communicate these to the project team
- Understand contractual arrangements with clients and escalate any issues to the Project Leader
- Develop and apply technical expertise on allocated projects
- Prepare specifications, proposals and other documentation for review
- Proactively seek work opportunities to minimise nonproductive time and maximise chargeable time

About you:

- BSc / BEng Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Three to five years’ experience in a similar position
- Demonstrated understanding and application of relevant Australian and industry standards and legislation
- Sound problem solving skills
