Your New Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Capacity and Availability Coordinator to support JP2060 Ph4, a multi-year Defence program to deliver and sustain an enterprise Health Knowledge Management System. This capability will enable better clinical decision making for the ADF.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising the capacity of our workloads within Defence infrastructure (AWS), ensuring high availability, and implementing strategies to enhance system performance.

Duties include: 

  • Develop and implement capacity planning strategies for HKM System and resources (AWS), ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor resource utilisation and proactively plan for capacity upgrades to meet growing demands.
  • Work with the customer to understand, anticipate and influence future demand for services (Demand Management) and feeding the demand pipeline information into capacity planning models to enable sufficient capacity
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies to optimise the efficiency of system resources.
  • Maintain high availability solutions for critical systems and applications.
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential points of failure.
  • Follow the automate first approach to automate the deployment and scaling of resources
  • Implement automation scripts and workflows to streamline repetitive tasks.
  • Maintain monitoring tools to track system performance and availability.
  • Optimise alerts and notifications to quickly respond to potential issues and outages.
  • Adhere security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities and mitigate security risks.
  • Involvement in the deployment of applications into multiple on premise and disconnected environments
  • Create/Maintain operational documentation

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold NV-1 security clearance and be eligible to obtain an NV-2 security clearance.
