Our Client GROWING TREE KANGAROO POINT PTY LTD ABN – 94 651 833 993 – Located in Kangaroo Point, QLD is seeking a Full-time Early Childhood Teacher position for between $74,000 - $90,000 a year.
We are currently looking to appoint Early Childhood Teacher who can effectively deliver and evaluate early learning programs to join our friendly, professional team. The position requires someone who is dedicated, confident and articulate in early childhood pedagogy and practice. You will be supported by a team of highly professional educators and management.
DUTIES:
• Ensure that children are safe and that their everyday needs are met – this may include diapering, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
• Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in developmental activities.
• Model and encourage good social skills, e.g., strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Work with staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the day to day running of the centre in accordance with our centre's policies and procedures
• Contribute to and assist in the development and/or evaluation of learning programmes
• Positively interact with all children, nurturing their confidence and self-esteem giving each child individual attention and comfort throughout the day.
• Assist in planning for the ongoing development of each individual child
• Assist in the recording of children's development
• Assist in implementing a consistent daily routine for the children
• Participate in supervising indoor/outdoor environments to always provide safety for the children.
• Ensure a clean and healthy environment for all children
• Communicate with parents as delegated by the supervisor or Director
• Perform incidental administrative duties
• As requested, attend parent/staff meetings
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• At least Bachelor in early childhood education + relevant work experience
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Preferred at least 2 years’ work experience in early childhood education
• A well-developed understanding of theories of early childhood development, including current research would be welcomed
• Current First Aid CPR and emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
• A current and valid Working with Children’s Check (Blue Card) or exempt card
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
