HR/Safety & Compliance Manager

We are seeking an experience HR/Safety person to join our team to establish and maintain the HR/Safety & Compliance within the business.

COMPLIANCE

Ongoing maintenance of the business’s statutory requirements and compliance within the WAHVA scheme
Fatigue Management monitoring and creation/improvements upon current systems.
Regular reviews of policies, procedures, compliances, safety, and communicate and consult with both management, employees and related parties.
Maintain and update training and compliance registers.
Conduct regular audits on fatigue and compliance systems.
Actively monitor fatigue management for drivers’ and with the logistics team to ensure driver scheduling prevents breaches and any non-conformance is rectified.
Maintain and conduct regular audits of the business and employee’s compliance, including but not limited to, licence checks, medical renewals, and site inductions.
Investigate, action and close out non compliances and ensuring remedial actions are put in place to prevent reoccurrence.
Performing regular checks on our systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and to their full capacity.


SAFETY

Reviewing and improving safety processes.
Develop and implement strategies, policies and tools relevant to health, safety and environment.
Conduct regular site assessments, inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification.
Collaborate and understand customer needs/objectives on HSE matters.
Engage with the workforce, be visible and improve HSE culture across the business.

HUMAN RESOURCES

Manage and administer the employee induction process.
Complete regular Toolbox talks and distribute to all parties.
Implementing performance management systems to set goals, evaluate employee performance, and provide feedback.
Identifying training and development needs to enhance employee performance and career growth.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
Providing employees with a confidential an professional internal point of contact to discuss any issues affecting their performance and/or work life balance.


Experience/Qualifications:

High level of attention to detail, autonomous and self driven.
Excellent verbal, written and professional communication skills.
Strong computer literacy skills, specifically Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Advanced Excel is an advantage.
