Our Client EMPORIUM HOTELS PTY LTD ABN – 69 122 703 708 – Located in Southbank, QLD is seeking a Full-time Chef position for between $74,000 - $76,000 a year.

The successful candidate needs to work as part of the Kitchen team to ensure a quality product for our guests, and profitable food operation across the Emporium Hotel. At all times, be aware of food safety guidelines, workplace health and safety guideline, the Emporium Hotel Service Standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Work with Executive Chef and Sous Chef to supervise all operational aspects of the Kitchen and related outlets.
Ensure all employees are following procedures according to stipulated departmental and Hotel policies.:

Duties and responsibilities:
• Prepare, cook, and present all menu food items as outlined and specified on menus. Promote high standards of food/meal quality and presentation. Regulate portion size.
• Make sure all food is prepared to recipe.
• Make sure food is prepared in a timely manner and ready to serve on time.
• Assist Chief Steward in keeping a high standard of cleanliness through the operation.
• Lead employees by setting a positive example. Instructs and develops staff and apprentices.
• Assist Head Chef with menu preparation and ensure adequate supplies are available for expected service.
• Produce quality meals and food products for restaurants, banquets and food outlets. Check daily production in accordance with function sheets in consultation with the Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
• Complete daily food production as directed by the Head Chef, Sous Chef and executive chef communicating with the kitchen team and Food & Beverage Operational team.
Qualification and work experience:
• Relevant qualifications
• At least 2 years full-time employment experience
• Demonstrate awareness of the WH&S policies and procedures and ensure all duties are conducted safely and within guidelines provided;
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures;
• Be familiar with the operational guidelines for all equipment used in the outlet and ensure equipment is always operated safely and sensibly
