Mental Health Clinician – Family Therapy - Youth Enhanced Services

  • 2x part-time (0.6FTE - negotiable) contracts until July 2025, with the potential to extend
  • Based at Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie, with telehealth options also available
  • $49.50 - $52.55 p/ Hour (negotiable subject to quals) + Super + Salary Packaging of up to $18,550 

Are you dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for young people and their families? Do you excel in delivering family therapy and thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment?

As a Mental Health Clinician in Family Therapy within the Youth Enhanced Services (YES) program, you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic support for children, young people, and their families
  • Enhance family therapy resources and support within the YES team
  • Offer high-quality mental health treatment across individual, group, and family contexts, including holistic assessments, treatment planning, and transitions in care
  • Collaborate with other care agencies, interagency networks, and educators to create a robust support system
  • Develop and deliver culturally appropriate and holistic services
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery

About the program
EACH is the Lead Agency of the Therapeutic Alliance (TA), a consortium of community based, not-for-profit organizations who provide mental health services across the North Coast of NSW through a multidisciplinary, person centred, hub-and-spoke model of care. 

The alliance offers a range of services under the Primary Mental Health Program (PMHP), including Healthy Minds, the Mental Health Nursing Incentive Program, Youth Enhanced Services (YES), Suicide Prevention, Counselling Support, and Low Intensity Mental Health programs.

About you
We are looking for a dedicated professional with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering family therapy to children, young people, and families
  • Proficiency in mental health therapeutic approaches (e.g., DBT, ACT) and a strong understanding of trauma’s impact on adolescent and young adult mental health
  • High-quality practice skills, including mental state examination, crisis and risk assessment, and after-care planning
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team environment to achieve program and organizational goals
  • Experience working with young people with moderate to high acuity mental health issues and understanding of relevant treatment options and support services
