DAC Enterprises is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and qualified full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic to join their Workshop Team based in Palmerston. The successful candidate is mainly responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and plant and undertake diagnostic tests on vehicles and maintaining detailed records of the vehicles serviced.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair mechanical components on a wide variety of vehicles and plants for petrol and diesel engines
- Schedule regular preventative machine maintenance, repairs and servicing, including diagnosis
- Overhaul, and rebuild diesel engines
- Compile high-quality field service and job reports
- Provide technical assistance when required
- Proactively maintaining a safe and healthy workshop environment and support an ongoing improvement culture
Qualification:
- Trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic) or a diploma in automotive engineering
- Valid driver’s licence
- Aptitude for mathematics and science
- 3-5 years of extensive experience in the maintenance of heavy vehicles/machinery
- Computer literate
- Experience in understanding and interpreting fault code data, electric fault finding, and machine information
- Experience working with Heavy Earthmoving equipment is essential.

A remuneration package between $70,000 to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation will be negotiated depending on skills and experience.
