Workfront are currently seeking a Fulltime Diesel Motor Mechanic for a fast-growing business based in Young NSW, that has been mining and manufacturing high grade magnesium oxide products for use in agriculture, animal health, industrial and pharmaceutical processes, for over 60 years. Therefore, we are seeking a highly motivated individual who is willing to evolve and grow within the company. The salary is $70,00-$80,000 negotiable based on experience and expertise.
Duties included but not limited to:
• Upkeep, check and overhaul diesel motors, transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.
• Upkeep, check and overhaul forklifts, articulated dump trucks, wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, bulldozers, graders, mobile screen and other heavy earth moving equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of all motors/engines/equipment and as necessary carry out appropriate maintenance in accordance with service instructions. This includes identifying and overhauling or replacing faulty parts and reconvening mechanical and electrical components.
• Carry out pre-emptive and planned maintenance & servicing such as oil changes and lubrication and ensure all motors/engines/equipment are kept in good running condition.
• Recognize mechanical and electrical faults in engines and reassembling of engines after repairs.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components.
• Maintain and repair fixed plant such as primary screen, photometric ore sorting plant and other fixed plant.
• Respond to breakdown services/ call out during odd hours including night and weekends.
• Maintain proper inventory of spares, lubricants and consumables etc.
• Enforce and conform to Federal and State Work Health & Safety and Environmental Standards.
• Any other tasks assigned from time to time, including but not limited to housekeeping, operations, training and other duties.
Essential requirements to be successful in this role:
• Work well within a team and adhere to strict company policies and procedures.
• Willingness to work extended hours and on weekends, if required.
• Be well-versed in English to communicate by phone, text or email with suppliers and read and understand equipment manuals and Australian standards for repair and maintenance of fixed plant.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
• 3-6 years industrial experience to repair & maintain earthmoving/automotive equipment & other heavy diesel machinery independently.
• Qualified diesel mechanic – completed through an accredited institute/college.
• Valid driving license.
