Apollo Fabrication are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Machine Operator to join their team in Young NSW2594.
Operate the cutting machines and carry out associated tasks to produce accurate, clearly identifiable, steel components for fabrication into assemblies. Ensure that this is done in a manner that protects your personal health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Also ensure that all equipment used is correctly operated and that user maintenance is carried out as required.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Download nesting data and/or refer to printed nesting sheets to check cutting specifications.
- Confirm that the correct steel feedstocks (sections and plate) are clearly identified and ready for cutting in the desired order.
- Check that the cutting machines are in good order and correctly adjusted before cutting.
- During cut operations, carry out quality / accuracy checks as specified for the job and record them.
- Identify and carry out any required post-cutting finishing work to prepare surfaces for optimal ease and quality of fabrication.
- Report any production errors.
- Remove and stack offcut material in an orderly manner.
- Ensure that all cut components are clearly identified by project, phase and part.
- Ensure that the heat numbers for the components are clearly noted on the corresponding nesting sheets.
- Stack finished components ready for transfer in optimal order for fabrication.
- Maintain a good standard of housekeeping by ensuring that the work area is clean, tidy and without trip or other hazards.
- If required, carry out other production-related tasks that you are qualified to perform, such as yard work, truck loading & unloading and blasting / painting.

Salary range is $65,000 - $75,000pa commensurate with experience
