Full Time Sous Chef
Salary ($AUD): $74,000 to $78,000 + SUPERANNUATION
Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking, plating, and presentation predominantly for a breakfast and brunch set-up.
• Train and mentor cooks and kitchen hands to ensure consistency and quality in all culinary operations for the cafe
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring a clean and organised kitchen environment
• Collaborate on menu development and assist on food costing
• Assist in the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
• Can handle inventory, including ordering and managing supplies.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and professional growth among staff members
Qualification and Experience
• Applicant with qualification in commercial cookery will be prioritized but is not a mandatory requirement
• Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavour profiles, and food presentation
• Can perform in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service
• Relevant culinary certifications or qualifications are a plus
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a café / brunch eatery
• Experience in developing modern Australian breakfast and brunch dishes
