Holistic Support Services provides assistance, which will enhance the quality of life, confidence and methods to nurture growth and learning opportunities, improving the overall wellbeing of individuals with disabilities.
We are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our team
Job Purpose
As a Support Worker, you will use your enthusiasm and experience to support independence for people with disability in all aspects of life.
Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: help clients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. They may also assist with mobility aids and equipment.
2. Medication Management: some clients may require assistance with medication administration and ensure that clients take their prescribed medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
3. Meal Preparation: plan and prepare meals for clients, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions or special diets.
4. Household Tasks: assist with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe and hygienic living environment for clients.
5. Transportation: help clients with transportation, such as driving them to appointments, activities, or social outings.
6. Emotional and Social Support: provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in activities and conversations that promote social and emotional well-being.
7. Assistive Devices: assist clients in using various assistive devices like wheelchairs, hearing aids, communication devices, or prosthetic limbs.
Essential Criteria
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Current Working with Children Check
• Police Clearance Check
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
• Empathetic Personality
• Personal and Professional Integrity
• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support/Higher or other relevant qualification + 2 years of work experience in the field
• NDIS Workers Check
Desirable Criteria
• Experience working within the disability sector or experience in working with and supporting individuals deemed as having significant complexity in their lives.
• Current NSW Driver’s License
Role
Full time
Remuneration
$75,000 – 80,000 per annum.
