Salary: $74,000 plus 11.5%superannuation
Our client, Prasiic Pty Ltd t/a The Grill restaurant: steak, ribs and seafood in Port Macquarie Is looking to fill a full time position for enthusiastic, creative and experienced Chef to work in a busy restaurant. The Grill restaurant: steak, ribs and seafood are a highly regarded venue for its Australian food and welcoming hospitality in a vibrant atmosphere.
The employer is looking for an experienced Chef with the passion and ability to drive the kitchen, create amazing food offerings and lead the team. The Chef will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the customer’s satisfaction.
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day culinary operations, including innovative menu offerings, food safety and hygiene compliance to ensure consistent and quality standards are achieved.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have relevant 2 years’ work experience and trade qualifications, you must have a genuine interest in the hospitality industry. The successful applicant must comply with all WHS, Food Safety and HACCP requirements.
Qualifications and experience
• be qualified in hospitality with AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least 2 years full-time experience as a Chef
In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Overall management of kitchen production to achieve consistency and deliver exceptional products and service
• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Preparing and cooking food
• Maintaining high level kitchen standards and quality
• Assisting in the efficient running of kitchen operations
• Delivering outstanding food in taste and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with manager/ owner and kitchen staff
• Ensuring all kitchen staff understood expectations and parameters of kitchen goals and daily kitchen work
• Maintain cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas
• Ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available, as well as ensuring appealing plate presentation
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Ensuring all food operations are compliant with relevant regulations
• Participating in the cost controlling and waste management of food
• Maintaining updated knowledge of local competition and restaurant industry trends
