Programmed Training Services specialise in the employment of Apprentices and Trainees with our clients and the design and delivery of nationally accredited training.
Programmed, in partnership with Atlas Copco Compressors have an unique opportunity for a keen and reliable individual looking to commence a career pathway as a Mechanical Fitting Apprentice in Kewdale.
This is an entry level position and requires no previous experience in the industry. If you have a positive attitude, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enjoy hands-on learning and are passionate about becoming a master tradesperson, then we want you to apply.
As a Mechanical Fitter Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain on and off the job experience with one of our major customers Atlas Copco Compressors - providing compressed air solutions; industrial compressors, gas and process compressors and expanders, air and gas treatment equipment, and air management systems.

About your new role:

Follow principles of occupational health and safety in the work environment
Examine and review detailed drawings or specifications
Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment
Operate machines to produce parts or tools
Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies, including welding or brazing parts
Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts
Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines
Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies

A current driver's license as you may be supplied a company vehicle

TAFE Studies: TAFE will be in completed in blocks and your commitment is of the utmost importance for progression in this apprenticeship.
Location: Whilst the Apprenticeship is based in a Kewdale workshop, you will be required to work anywhere in the region to gain the full trade experience during your apprenticeship. This may include working away on projects if the business requires so you must be flexible to the requirements of the role. Applicants must live in the Kewdale region. Prior to offer of employment the successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination 'fit for work' (including passing a drug and alcohol screen).
