The Client

WorldRemit is a digital cross border remittance business that provides international money transfer and remittance services in more than 130 countries.

Due to a manpower need, they require a full time Compliance Team Lead to join their team in Sydney CBD.





The Role

This role is a full time position with an annual salary set at $130,000 – $150,000 plus superannuation.

This role is responsible for supporting the Head of Compliance Australia & New Zealand in the overseeing of regulatory compliance for the organisation’s Australia & New Zealand businesses. The role will provide support to the Australia & New Zealand businesses in complying with all applicable regulatory requirements, embedding, and maintaining an effective compliance culture, management of compliance training, recordkeeping, monitoring, and analytical functions involved with regulatory compliance for example Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing Terrorism (CFT) legislation.



Responsibilities

?Perform ongoing testing of the Australia & New Zealand AML/CTF Compliance program control, with monthly reporting to the Head of Compliance Australia & New Zealand.

Act as the escalation point within the APAC Compliance team for transaction monitoring, customer due diligence investigations, and any potential violation of AML/CTF sanctions regulations within Australia and New Zealand.

Oversee law enforcement requests or Governmental information requests for Australia & New Zealand.

Oversee the customer onboarding for Australia as the point of contact for any team escalations regarding manual passport verifications & DVS.

?Oversee the IFTI & PTR reporting within Australia & New Zealand to ensure all reports are submitted in a timely manner and progress reporting to the Head of Compliance Australia & New Zealand of any updates and failures.

Assist with the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the applicable Australia & New Zealand AML/CTF/Compliance programs, policies, and procedures.

Be involved as appropriate in local partnership, collaboration, networking with industry working groups or opportunities from a compliance perspective.

Review and approve the submission of suspicious matters to AUSTRAC & NZ FIU.

Support with the training and development of the frontline and senior analyst team compliance

Escalate all urgent matters to the Head of Compliance Australia & New Zealand.

Provide Compliance advice and support to the business as required.

Assist with any other Compliance related matters or projects as identified and assigned by the Head of Compliance Australia & New Zealand and the Director, Financial Crime Compliance.

Provide ongoing assistance and support to the other APAC Compliance offices.

Assist in the coordination and support of all Australia & New Zealand Compliance audits (internal & external), and examinations.

Carry out any other tasks, local, regional, or global projects as may be requested from time to time.



Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, law, business, or a related field.

CAMS certification would be an advantage.

At least 2 years in managing risk and compliance frameworks within a financial services or digital payments environment.

At least 2 years understanding the digital remittance and cross-border payment industry, including relevant regulations and best practices.

At least 2 years in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs and 2 years with regulatory reporting obligations, including lodging AML reports and managing licensing obligations.

Proficiency in creating and managing dashboards and reports to present data insights to stakeholders.

Familiarity with regulatory systems such as AUSTRAC and GoAML for reporting suspicious matters.

Ability to perform data quality reviews and assist in the preparation of compliance documentation.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and gather requirements from different business units.
