About us:

Oceania Marine Consultants Pty Ltd is a fully integrated Marine Survey company offering marine surveying solutions across Australia and abroad.
With a wealth of local marine industry experience and surveying expertise, we are a team of Industry Leaders, Master Mariners and experienced Marine Surveyors, all of whom are highly competent to undertake a wide variety of marine services as per client requirements in line with industry standards.
We have multiple fulltime permanent vacancies for these busy diverse roles available, in areas including Adelaide SA, Newcastle NSW and Fremantle WA.
There will be interstate and intrastate travel involved as demanded by the nature of the Marine industry and our company requirements.
Job Duties:
• Maintaining high standards of reporting and monitoring regarding condition of ships and cargo.
• Organising ship’s shifting requirements, co-ordinate berthing operations
• Delivering expert advice regarding ship’s stability, ship stress, trimming etc, including Load/Discharge inspections of Marine Vessels and Loading master.
• Conducting inspections/ draft surveys when required on all types of vessels both on shore and offshore including quantity surveys and sampling.
• On-Hire / Off-Hire bunker and condition surveys
• Ensuring all measuring equipment and equipment used for analysis is accurately maintained and calibrated at the prescribed intervals
• Ensuring that a Job Safety Analysis and Occupational Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to at all times
• Supervise ship’s maintenance and repairs
• Provide guidance to ship’s officers / crew and other service providers
• Manage ship’s arrival times and liaise with service providers
• Preparation of reports and Invoices including general office duties
• Liaison with clients, Shipping Agents & vessel staff

About you:

Working with a dynamic team dedicated to continuous improvement, your diversity of thought and practical experience will be embraced. To be successful in this role, you will also require the following:
• Master Class 1 (Unrestricted)
• At least 2- 3 years relevant sailing/bulk carrier experience
• Experience in Marine Surveying preferred.
• Relevant Australian qualification or Overseas equivalent.
• Outstanding knowledge of industry rules, regulations, and terminal operations.
• Valid MSIC or ability to obtain the same.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Be able to pass Medical/ Drug and alcohol test.
