About the Role
ETS has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Biomedical Engineer/Technician to join our diverse team. Successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive biomedical technical service and should be able to work under minimal supervision while performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs of medical equipment as per Australian standards and to the manufacturer recommendations, while maintaining the integrity of our client relationships.
About you
The successful applicant will be required to:
Have analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and the ability to learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot technical electronic issues.
Perform and organise regular preventative maintenance tasks for medical devices, including calibration, performance and safety testing as per Australian standards, manufacturer recommendations and department procedures.
Liaising with clinical staff to negotiate access to medical equipment requiring maintenance or repair.
Complete routine testing, and inspection of patient treatment areas as required to comply with Australian standards.
Perform installation and acceptance testing of medical equipment entering a health care facility.
Perform or organise corrective maintenance and repairs with consideration to cost and quality of the repair.
Travel to offsite locations for servicing clients may be required.
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
Formal qualifications in Biomedical Engineering/ Biomedical Technician or equivalent (Tertiary, technical or trade qualification Mandatory)
Previous experience working in the Biomed field preferred.
A current non-restricted Driver’s license and car
Knowledge of the relevant Australian Standards and their application to medical equipment.
Self-motivation.
Knowledge of the relevant Australian Standards and their application to medical equipment.
Self-motivation.
Intermediate computer hardware and software skills.
Good theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering, a sound understanding of medical sciences with the ability to combine the two.
A strong commitment to high quality care and customer service.
The ability to work as part of the team, as well as working by yourself.
Excellent communication skills with clinical staff, customers and fellow employees.
The ability to lift 20 -25 Kg.
The ability to communicate effectively via both verbal and written communications.
Proof of double Covid 19 vaccination is required to work within our client’s healthcare facilities as per government mandates.
