Job Title: Childcare Room Leader
Salary: $73,500 per annum plus super
Hours: Permanent Full-time (38 hours per week)

Role Overview
The Child Care Group Leader is responsible for overseeing a group of children, ensuring their well-being, safety, and developmental needs are met through carefully planned activities. This role requires strong leadership, a caring nature, and a commitment to early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement and document an educational program/curriculum for children
• Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children
• Care for the day to day needs of children
• Responsible for the guidance, support, direction and general supervision of staff, students and volunteers working within the room
• Delegate required tasks to staff
• Program for the group
• Organise equipment and materials for the group’s planned daily activities
• Observe children’s behaviour and guiding their social development
• In compliance with the centre and safety policy, ensure a safe and hygienic environment is maintained at all times for staff and children, with particular attention to children with any conditions or special requirements
• Ensure that accurate records and reports are kept in regards to accident, incident, injury, illness and medication
• Ensure staff is aware of current thinking and practice in early childhood education, and service delivery
• Liaise with families in regards to the day-to-day happenings of the room and child’s progress in encouraging centre relationships with families
• Co-operate and communicate effectively with parents about their child-care needs.
• Promote and maintain positive working relationships with other staff
• Actively support and co-operate with other staff in their child-care duties
• Maintain observations and records of individual children’s progress, particularly those identified through staff observation
Qualifications
• This position requires a relevant Australian Diploma level qualification or equivalent with 3 years mandatory relevant work experience
• 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role is important for this position
• A current Working with Children Check
• Clear character record is also required for this role
• First Aid Certification
