Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our Yatala branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical and electrical diagnostics, maintenance, and repair tasks on diesel engines and related components. The role demands technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. This is a full-time position requiring at least 38 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
· Detect and diagnose issues in diesel engines and associated parts, using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
· Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components for thorough inspection and maintenance.
· Repair or replace worn and defective parts, ensuring the reassembly of mechanical components aligns with manufacturer specifications. Refer to service manuals for accurate guidance as needed.
· Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to optimize vehicle performance and comply with environmental regulations.
· Reassemble engines and components after repair work, ensuring all parts are correctly aligned and functional.
· Conduct tests and make necessary adjustments to mechanical parts to guarantee proper performance and safety standards.
· Utilize computerized systems to aid in diagnosing and testing parts, enhancing accuracy and efficiency in fault detection.
· Inspect vehicles to issue roadworthiness certificates or provide detailed reports on required work to meet roadworthiness standards.
· Respond promptly to vehicle breakdown service calls, providing efficient and reliable roadside assistance.
Qualifications:
· AQF Certificate III, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or
· AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) preferred.
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Experience Requirements:
· A minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
Skills and Attributes:

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members.
