A leading and well establish private sector organisation in Cairns with operations throughout North and Far-North QLD are seeking a permanent IT Support Engineer to work on the IT networks, systems and infrastructure technologies that underpin it's running and operation!
Your new role
Established many years ago, this organisation has deep ties to the Cairns community through its operations and social engagements which service not just those in the local vicinity, but the wider North and Far-North QLD region as a whole. Working with everyone from private individuals to government instructions, the projects this organisation oversee have wide and far reaching impacts.

Your new role within this organisation will see you report directly into senior management with your aim being to ensure its continual operation through the use of technology by deploying, upgrading and maintaining the various technologies in use.

This will see you work across the entire company from the finance department to the logistics hub to support their IT systems, hardware, network and infrastructure across multiple technical stacks. The day-to-day responsibilities will see you conduct support across all levels (1-3) to work on everything including Windows Server administration, password resets, VMWare management, Active Directory config, hardware rollouts and everything in-between.

Alongside these support activities there will also be project-based work whether that be cloud migrations (365, Azure, etc), platform implementations/roll outs (MS Dynamics, SharePoint, etc) or any other digital transformation/uplift pieces of work (road map dependent). You will also be conducting non-hands-on work such as creating technology road maps, planning hardware roll outs, organising systems upgrades and designing network solutions amongst other higher-level duties.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience across as much of the following as possible:

The Microsoft eco system - Windows Servers and Desktop OS (such as Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, Windows 10, etc), Microsoft 365, SCCM, SQL Server, etc
Configuration of networking/infrastructure platforms (Switches, Routers, Access Points, etc)
Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc) maintenance and deployment/rollouts
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Technical mindset
Working with stakeholders at all levels
Perfect communication skills (written and verbal)

Full Australian working rights are required
Applicants need to be currently residing in Australia (those outside of Australia will not be considered for this position)
