Your new company Hays is exclusively partnering with a global household brand. Recognised for its innovative excellence within the retail/wholesale space. They operate more than 300 stores around the world and are looking for a Finance Manager to join their team initially on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Your new role
Managing a team of 6 you will be responsible for the Accounting & Reporting services, supporting a strong compliance framework, and effective governance to enable entrepreneurship and safeguard our people, customers and businesses. You will not only deal directly with the retail business but also with the investment and environmental arms of the business.



Responsible for all financial reporting in compliance with the Group frameworks and local GAAP and other (local) applicable regulations / requirements and secures effectiveness of the internal control framework within the financial operations.


Understanding of intercompany transactions


P&L Reviews & analysis


Review accounting data for GST returns for both AU & NZ


Review bi-monthly Reports before group submission


Review balance sheet reconciliations and provide feedback to team on actions required (if any)


Lead the team to achieve global standard frameworks and processes and efficiently deliver the right level of quality of accounting and reporting for business and compliance needs.


Responsible for building and maintaining strong business relationships with relevant external stakeholders and act as a trustful and professional business partner with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to support reaching overall goals and objectives.


Lead cooperation with Country organisation to minimise deviations from standard global frameworks for local business needs and compliance reasons and secures effective ways of working.


Participate in global projects and support local execution (as part of these projects) to simplify, harmonise and automate financial operations and reporting.


Contribute ideas and insight to the business planning process from Meeting places and Domain perspective and use as a basis for the team action plan.


Secure close cooperation with Legal and Tax teams to ensure compliance with legal and tax requirements and enable an efficient and effective external audit process.


Secure and maintain a connection with and between Meeting places, domains and relevant functions within the group.


It is a hands-on role, requiring preparation and posting of some standing/accrual journals


What you'll need to succeed


CA or CPA qualified


Leadership experience managing in person on shore team


Experience working in a large retail business, with global exposure highly desirable


Business Partnering: Strategic, tactical and operational business partner, with strong analytical skills, translate business needs into financial consequences and solutions.


Communication: Strong communicator with capacity to influence decisions and create energy and commitment within the organisation.


Change oriented: to able to handle a constantly changing environment with many different stake holders and demands.


Developing people: Ability to inspire individuals and teams to accomplish organisational goals; motivate people to perform and grow by providing feedback, coaching, training and career direction.
