Supply and Distribution Manager

They are now seeking an experienced Supply and Distribution Manager to join their team in Wetherill Park in NSW.

?The Role

Your primary responsibility is to oversee and optimise the supply chain and distribution processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, logistics, and sales, to identify areas of improvement, implement strategies, and drive efficiency throughout the supply and distribution network. Your goal is to enhance operational effectiveness, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers

The position is for a full time role with an annual salary of $93,000 plus superannuation.

Some tasks may include

Managing, coaching and mentoring your team to develop and maintain an engaged workforce.

Determining, implementing and monitoring purchasing, storage and distribution strategies, policies and plans.

Preparing and implementing plans to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost.

Working with suppliers to meet quality, cost, packaging and delivery requirements.

Monitoring and reviewing storage and inventory systems to meet supply requirements and control stock levels.

Operating recording systems to track all movements of supplies and finished goods, and ensuring re-ordering and re-stocking at optimal times.

Liaising with other departments and customers concerning requirements for outward goods and associated forwarding transportation.

Liaising with internal teams and reviewing current performance and processes and looking for ways to continuously improve through entire supply chain cycle. From ordering to receiving to packing to picking to dispatch to arrival at customer.

Conducting thorough analysis of the existing supply chain processes, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Developing strategies and implement solutions to optimize the supply chain, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce costs.

Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to improve delivery schedules, lead times, and overall supplier performance.

Monitoring inventory levels, analyse demand patterns, and develop inventory management strategies to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.

Implementing inventory control mechanisms, such as forecasting models, safety stock calculations, and reorder point optimisation, to optimise inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.

Evaluating the current distribution network, including transportation modes, warehouse locations, and logistics providers, to identify opportunities for improvement.

Developing strategies to optimise the distribution network, streamline transportation routes, and reduce lead times.

Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to improve order fulfillment, shipment tracking, and delivery accuracy.

Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of supply chain and distribution operations.

Developing reporting mechanisms to track KPIs and provide regular performance updates to management.

Analysing data and generate insights to identify trends, areas of concern, and improvement opportunities.

Identifying process gaps and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance overall supply chain and distribution performance.

Driving change management initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation of process improvements and adoption of best practices across teams.

Providing training and support to stakeholders to ensure compliance with new processes and procedures.

Be responsible for providing a safe working environment free of hazards by completing daily site/department inspections and implementing preventative and corrective actions and promoting a positive culture towards safety and wellness





The Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field

Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or distribution, preferably in a multi-modal logistics environment
