Collaborating with 9 partnering organisations the aim of this service is to address service gaps by enhancing accessibility and integrating primary mental health care, AOD, psychosocial support, and early intervention and prevention through a multidisciplinary, person centred model of care. Job Description
Fostering a flexible, supported, and empowered team culture, the Team Leader for the Psychological Treatment Services in Residential Aged Care Facilities within the new MHAODSP program will lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health services.
The role includes providing clinical and operational support within Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) for psychological treatment services, maintaining a small client caseload, overseeing the quality of client files and data, and ensuring program KPIs are met. The Team Leader will also manage stakeholder relationships, co-design supports with community stakeholders, and develop operational systems and protocols. This position requires strong leadership, mental health expertise, and the ability to foster a collaborative team culture.

About you
If you have background in working with older adults, preferably with complex mental health issues, and extensive experience managing teams in programs supporting older adults with mental health challenges, trauma, and substance use, then we encourage you to apply!
You will also have:
- Knowledge of service systems in health, homelessness, education, and family violence contexts.
- Expertise in mental health, trauma, social determinants of health, and principles of recovery.
- Ability to deliver therapeutic interventions supporting people with co-occurring issues, as well as experience in triage, assessment, and referral allocation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at building effective relationships.
- Ability to assess and manage risks while prioritising client rights and outcomes.
- Competency in working with young people and families from diverse cultural or community backgrounds, including First Nations Australians, those from LGBTIQ+ communities, and those from remote and migrant communities.
