About the role
The role will include but not be limited to:
Building Code of Australia assessments, based on drawing review and site inspections
Preparation of fee proposals
Preparation of fire engineering performance based design solutions, for new and existing buildings, utilising: Qualitative and quantitative egress assessments, qualitative and quantitative fire and smoke spread assessments, radiant heat calculations
Performing computer modelling of fire and smoke using Fire Dynamics Simulator (NIST)
Performing computer modelling of occupant emergency evacuation using spreadsheet calculations, Simulex, Evacnet, Pathfinder, and similar evacuation models
Assessing structural systems exposed to fire through computational methods outlined in standards, research papers and proprietary software programs
Attend site inspections and meetings with clients, project managers, design teams and approval authorities
Provide and attend in-house and external technical sessions and seminars;
Coordinating with clients, consultants and enforcing agencies in relation to fire safety aspects of projects
Maintaining organized project information and clear understanding of project tasks/schedule
